SHI wins fourth consecutive Dell DMR Partner of the Year award

It’s a re-gifted holiday season here at SHI, and we couldn’t be happier! For the fourth consecutive year, Dell has re-gifted SHI the DMR Partner of the Year award.

SHI’s VP/GM of Corporate Sales Hal Jagger (CENTER) was on site at Dell World 2013 to accept the award on SHI’s behalf.

The award recognizes Dell partners for top line revenue, enterprise revenue growth, and best-in-class execution of programs and demand generation. In 2013, SHI’s Dell revenue grew 17 percent year over year, driven by demand for Dell laptops, desktops, servers, and storage solutions. Quest Software accounted for nearly 10 percent of SHI’s overall Dell business, finishing as our top Dell Software product group.

We’re honored to accept this award and proud of what it represents — SHI’s ability to connect organizations with the Dell hardware and software needed to improve their businesses. To our customers, thank you for choosing us as your technology partner of choice. We look forward to sharing another successful year in 2014.

SHI recognized by Microsoft for a decade of excellence

For the 10th consecutive year, Microsoft has named SHI a winner of its Platinum Level Operational Excellence Award. This is the 12th time SHI has received the honor, which is given to partners who have demonstrated “market-leading operational excellence” in support of the delivery, deployment, and maintenance of Microsoft technology.

SHI is committed to educating our customers on the Microsoft products, licensing scenarios, and updates they need to be aware of to efficiently manage their tech environments. Through informative blog posts on new software licensing options, hands-on introductions to Microsoft technologies, and our ever-expanding portfolio of Microsoft devices, we strive to help organizations make educated IT purchasing decisions and connect them with the technologies best suited to their needs. We are proud to once again be recognized for these efforts!

Congratulations to all the SHI employees whose hard work and dedication contributed to this award, and thank you to our Microsoft customers for helping to make this possible! VMware names SHI as SMB and Renewals Partner of the Year

Fourteen months ago, New Jersey Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno helped SHI officially open a new World Headquarters that featured the SHI Cloud data center and plenty of office space for our continued employee expansion. Luckily, the renovated building features plenty of room in the trophy case.

SHI VMware Partner of the YearBecause earlier today, SHI picked up two more pieces of hardware, being named VMware’s SMB and Renewals Partner of the Year at VMware’s Partner Exchange in Las Vegas.

“SHI is honored to accept these awards, which serve as a testament to the strong bonds, support, and growth shared by our two organizations,” said Thai Lee, President and CEO of SHI International in our press release this afternoon. “Over the past five years, VMware has become one of SHI’s most trusted partners and has helped us elevate the level of conversation with customers to focus on more comprehensive and strategic data center solutions. Our relationship with VMware is a true partnership, one that benefits our customers above all else, and we look forward to nurturing that partnership for years to come.”

Driven by customer demand for VMware technologies, SHI’s VMware business has grown an average of 51 percent over the past five years, topping out at just under $200 million in 2012 (when SHI was named VMware Corporate Reseller Partner of the Year).

But more important that revenue growth, VMware technologies are continuously influencing the conversations SHI has with our clients. Last year, two thirds of the corporate customers who purchased VMware through SHI also purchased servers, storage, and networking hardware solutions.

For that, we are very thankful to VMware, and are proud to be named SMB and Renewals Partner of the Year!

SHI is only Dell partner to take home 2 Partner of the Year Awards at Dell World 2012

I’m back in the office this week after spending much of last week in Austin, Texas for Dell World — Dell’s second annual customer and partner event. It was a great chance to meet face-to-face with our customers and demonstrate our ever-strengthening partnership by tossing some SHI footballs to our colleagues at Dell (literally).

On Tuesday, Dell revealed its Partner of the Year award winners for Fiscal Year 2013, and we’re both honored and excited to share that we received two of them. In fact, we were the only Dell partner to take home the award in two categories. SHI was named Healthcare Partner of the Year and, for the third year in a row, Direct Marketer Partner of the Year.

SHI recognized for excellence in support of Microsoft technology

One month ago, I shared 10 reasons why your Microsoft ESA matters. The purpose of my post was to help IT managers evaluate and select an Enterprise Software Advisor that would support them through every step and maximize the value of their enterprise agreements.

However, the most interesting response I got to this post was from SHI employees. I’d be walking the halls of our company headquarters and one of my colleagues would stop me and express their satisfaction that tasks they complete on a daily basis — such as “processing Microsoft contract paperwork accurately and on time” or “helping customers activate and manage their software assurance benefits” — were deemed extraordinary enough to be listed among a top-10 bullet point blog post.

These colleagues don’t have to take my word that these seemingly routine tasks are extraordinary. They can also take Microsoft’s.

SHI recognized by MIcrosoft for operational excellence

BEST IN CLASS: SHI wins Platinum Level Operational Excellence Award for 11th time.

Today, for the ninth consecutive year and 11th time overall, Microsoft named SHI the winner of its North American Operational Excellence Award. We received this honor for “delivering market-leading operational excellence” in supporting our customers’ sourcing, procurement, and deployment of Microsoft technology.

Currently, SHI supports more than 15,000 Microsoft volume license agreements on behalf of our customers, representing revenues of over $2.5 billion. With that kind of volume, this achievement is no small feat. It requires true expertise, teamwork, and communication from our ESAs, as well as the scalability of existing systems and processes.

So what’s next for Microsoft and SHI? Currently our account teams are talking to IT managers about what the launch of Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 means for their environments and volume licensing scenarios. To help with those efforts, whenever we get new information about any applicable volume license changes, best practices, or FAQs with regards to Microsoft (or any other SHI partner), we’ll post it here on the SHI Blog.

SHI earns spot on 2012 InformationWeek 500

The accolades keep on coming! Earlier this month, SHI was named to the InformationWeek 500, a listing of the country’s top technology innovators. The honor comes partly in recognition of the SHI Cloud, which, as you know, we unveiled to customers a short year ago.

2 years running: Symantec recognizes SHI as National Partner of the Year

It’s not every day that I get hit with a sense of déjà vu. You know, that weird feeling you get when you know you’ve been through the exact same experience before, just at some other place or time. But I got that feeling on Sept. 12 in Baltimore at Symantec‘s annual partner conference — Partner Engage 2012 — when SHI was recognized with a Partner of the Year Award for the second year in a row.
