SHI achieves VMware Cloud on AWS certification

The VMware Cloud (VMC) on AWS offers our customers new options for leveraging all of the capabilities of a modern software-defined data center using vSphere without the overhead of managing a physical data center to support it. It also allows our customers to leverage the power of Amazon’s rich portfolio of services to complement and extend their VMware-based solutions.

Whether you’re looking to extend your data center to the cloud, migrate applications, or develop a test environment, VMC on AWS removes migration barriers and increases operational efficiency through a hybrid cloud environment.

SHI can now help you make that transition. SHI is one of the select few to achieve the VMC on AWS Solution Competency. The rigorous certification confirms that SHI has the experience, tools, and knowledge to help you take advantage of all the opportunities in VMC on AWS.

As an AWS Advanced Consulting Partner and Managed Service Provider Partner, as well as a VMware Corporate Reseller, Partner Professional Services, and Cloud Partner Aggregator, SHI is uniquely positioned to support this new offering. We can bring AWS Architects, VMware solutions engineers, and extensive experience supporting both VMware and AWS environments to help our customers take full advantage of this new platform.

SHI can also leverage our new Customer Innovation Center to help customers evaluate and validate hybrid architectures that combine on-premises vSphere and VMC on AWS solutions.

Still, the VMware Cloud on AWS Solution Competency isn’t easily earned. To meet the requirements, SHI’s engineers had to complete the following:

  • 20 hours of presales enablement
  • Four VMware Technical Solutions Professional Accreditations
  • Two VMware Certified Professional Certifications
  • 15 days of technical post-sales boot camps for data center virtualization, network virtualization, and hyper-converged infrastructure

Each of these certifications and accreditations has an expiration date, meaning we’ll continue to train and retrain our subject matter experts and prove to VMware that we are technically able to support customers on VMC on AWS.
