The future is bright: Tanium Converge 2024 highlights intelligent automation:
SHI’s experts share important insights and key differentiators within the cybersecurity field
Value, visibility, innovation. These are just some of the words echoing after the convergence of cybersecurity and endpoint management professionals at Tanium Converge 2024.
With over 120 sessions, 100+ speakers, and 90+ hands-on labs, the annual conference provided a wealth of knowledge and insights, showcasing the future of endpoint management and security. Our experts bring back the biggest takeaways and exciting announcements from Converge, held from November 18-21 in Orlando, FL.
It’s time to automate and save
Several conference announcements have the potential to significantly impact your security strategy – in a cyber landscape growing more complex year over year.
By 2027, the projected annual cost of cybercrime is estimated to reach $23 trillion, according to Tanium. With serious IT and security consequences from even a single endpoint incident, Tanium brings a solution for automated endpoint management tasks, reduced risk, improved security posture, real-time data, and more.
Tanium’s new Autonomous Endpoint Management (AEM) offering aims to automate patching from start to finish, addressing a critical weakness in the cybersecurity space. AEM levels “the manual processes and manpower necessary for vulnerability remediation,” said Victor Brealon, Stratascale Security Consultant – Remediation Engineering. “The tool uses human sentiment to measure the success of the automation.”
“We’re excited to engage more with their new AEM offering and expand integrations with partners such as Microsoft and ServiceNow,” shared Alvi Trillana, Stratascale Sr. Security Consultant.
Tanium also announced insurance assessment partnerships with cyber insurance companies, offering discounts to customers who use their services. This initiative will help organizations save on premiums while ensuring robust cybersecurity measures.
Future product roadmaps and Tanium’s commitment to innovation and addressing evolving customer needs were also highlighted during the event.
“Tanium is an innovative, intuitive platform that solves real-world challenges,” said Rob Olejnicki, SHI Corporate Presales Solutions Architect. “Many of the biggest gaps in security and infrastructure are addressed by Tanium in one integrated solution.”
Solving real-world challenges
Our team weighed in on five valuable differentiators, offering expert insights on how Tanium helps you stay ahead of the curve.
1. Real-time visibility
Tanium provides real-time visibility and control over all endpoints, enabling organizations to respond swiftly to threats, “with features like vulnerability scanning, patch management, and incident response,” said Alvi.
“Their technology enables you to analyze and act on your environments in real time with little to no downtime to be effective, and the products scale to the size of your organization,” said Frankie Tartaro, SHI Global Sales Alliance Manager – Security. Tanium tackles the challenge of visibility: “Using Tanium modules like Discover, Asset, Interact, and Report, Tanium allows you to paint an entire picture of your environment,” said Victor.
2. High conversion rate
With a 70% conversion rate, Tanium’s value proposition is clear. “Tanium delivers on what they promise and it isn’t just a sell,” said Frankie. “It is a true solution stack that actually does what it says it’s going to do.” Tanium’s platform has a wide range of capabilities, reducing the tools necessary to address cybersecurity concerns within client environments and offering cost savings.
3. POCs
Effective stakeholder engagement is crucial. Demos and proofs of concept (POCs) play a vital role in showcasing Tanium’s capabilities and value. “SHI can provide consultative options to help understand Tanium and its capabilities and map out use cases,” said Rob. “We also offer a Tanium POC with expanded lab capabilities in the near future.”
4. Automation and savings
Tanium’s focus on automation reduces administrative burdens, allowing technical experts to focus on more strategic tasks. This efficiency translates into significant cost savings and removes unnecessary labor and human error.
“In a word: value,” said Rob. “Reducing unused licensing, reducing administrative time so your technical experts can more effectively use their time, reducing risk by increasing remediation of vulnerabilities, system application standards, unpatched systems, and more – all of these things translate into real dollars saved.”
5. User friendly
Tanium seamlessly integrates with SHI’s cybersecurity solution stacks, melding well with existing solutions. Its ease of use is another important factor, “with modules like Interact, allowing you to ask questions about your environment using natural language,” explained Victor. “Also [by] leveraging native OS tools that require skilled individuals and simplifying them, removing previous learning curves.”
