How to save time and money with SHI’s EULA Mitigation Service:
Avoid the hidden risks of software licensing

Reading Time: 2 minutes

We’ve all done it. We download a new, exciting suite of software, hastily clicking all the checkboxes so we can install the tools that’ll make our lives easier. We don’t read the end-user license agreement (EULA), and we have no idea what restrictions apply or permissions we’ve just given the software publisher.

This is especially true for one-off purchases for which, unlike something like a Microsoft or Cisco Enterprise Agreement (EA), this software has a niche use case that applies to only a handful of teammates.

That’s where SHI’s EULA Risk Mitigation Service comes in. We’ll help your procurement teams reduce risk and negotiate amended agreements that work best for you.

How it works

When you need to purchase software, SHI will send you the EULA to review and, if you find it incompatible with your regulatory or strategic needs, will work on your behalf to send the software publisher your Customer Letter Amendment.

If the publisher agrees to your amendment, fantastic! We’ll let your legal teams review and sign the contract (along with the publisher’s signature), then send you a quote for procurement.

If the publisher doesn’t agree, SHI will negotiate on your behalf from fallback positions you and your teams pre-approve.

The benefits

With our EULA Mitigation Service, you can reduce risk by implementing a minimum set of terms and conditions for non-strategic software purchases. And with us handling the negotiations, you’ll free up time to focus on strategic goals and objectives.

Say goodbye to long spreadsheets listing software suites with unknown legal or permissive repercussions.
